Dynamic Channel

Hello, this is kinda a 2 part question/request.

 

First part is, as it is right now, if I select Dynamic Background Channel Selection, when does the scanning take place?  

 

Second part is a feature request, in that if I select Dynamic Channel, can we have the option to select a time frame to scan (i.e 1am to 2am every day) like it is in SG/XG.

  • With dynamic channel selection, the AP changes the channel when it detects a too high interference or noise floor for a certain amount of time (about one second).

    As this is done continously and the channel is only changed when necessary, there is no need to select time frames when it should scan.

  • This information is incorrect.

    Dynamic Channel means: Checking the Channels on BOOTING UP THE ACCESSPOINT! Interessting thing when the Utm boots up 10 access points at the same time :D

    You can select additional "Time-based scan" and this is the Answer for your question.

  • The question was about the feature on Sophos Central, not on UTM. :-)

    For UTM you are right, there it's exactly as you described.
