Band Steering

Is Band Steering Implemented (i.e. is the AP favoring 5GHz over 2.4GHz), knowing its preference is useful from a trouble shooting point of view. However it can be problematic, being able to change the preference or disable it can be useful.

I am aware that client preference can override the preference of the AP. I have a small number of clients that only support 2.4GHz hence the need to have both 2.4GHz and 5GHz active, however it appears that a couple clients are connecting at 2.4GHz when I expected them to connect at 5GHz.

  • Hello Leon,

There will be an implementation for band steering and we are working on this feature. Band steering will be optional, configurable via cloud, just like you mentioned.

    regards

    Alex.
