How AP55C to communucate to XG

Hello everyone,

I would like to know how AP55C to communicate in order to register on the HX, from the documentation says the APs talks with the XG using the default gateway but on my scenario the AP is on another subnet, can I change the IP to establish the comunication like does AP unifi?.

    Hey Jhon, 

    By Default, APs send a registration request to their default gateway for the “magic IP” – 1.2.3.4, on port 2712.

    In your case, if Firewall is not the gateway then on your gateway device, You can add a static route with destination 1.2.3.4 and next-hop as the firewall's IP address. Also ensure that port 2712 (tcp) is not blocked in the transit.

    If adding a static route is not possible, then alternatively you can add an DHCP option code 234 in your DHCP server. More info on that here: support.sophos.com/.../KB-000034799
