SMTP notification settings

Question

Hello everyone! 
 I'm trying to configure and use an Office 365 mail server (smtp.office365.com) for email notifications on all of our clients' Sophos Firewalls. However, I'm experiencing issues with this setup. I'm not receiving any test emails or backups, which are urgently needed. I'm sure I typed the password correctly. 
 The old settings using the Ikomm connector (on Microsoft Exchange) are functional, but I'm determined to transition to Office 365. The only thing I changed was the FQDN, username, and password. Here is screenshot of the settings for your reference:

My boss has already found the reason, or rather two reasons why it wasn't working: 
 
 Probably there were forbidden characters in the password in this situation (' and/or ^). 
 The sender's email address must be the same - in my case firewall@example.com instead of fw-client@example.com otherwise Microsoft rejects the emails.

Please Google for "Microsoft 365 mail relay" to see what possibilities there are to use Microsoft 365 mail servers to relay mail. I am not giving a direct link as this is not always allowed on the forum. 
 Basically I think you need to setup a
