Objects in mail quarantine not showing

Hello community,

recently we've encountered a problem with the e-mail quarantine on our sophos XG135 (19.5.1 MR-1-Build278).

Our XG is set up as e-mail gateway for our on-prem mail server and till about 3 days ago everything worked fine.

Now, as far as I could check, the quarantine  is still doing it's job. I can see e-mails being quarantined via e-mail log.

ISSUE: When I check e-mail quarantine there are no objects shown at all, even though it shows about 8% storage space used by quarantine.

No matter which filters i'm applying, it won't show any quarantined e-mail on the list. Therefore I can neither release nor delete any e-mail from quarantine.

This also affects all users trying to release e-mails through sophos user-portal - no objects shown.

I haven't tried a reboot of the appliance yet, but it would be my next step at the end of this work day.

So my questions now are:

1. How can this be happening?

2. How do we resolve this?
