Only 100 mbps instead of 1gig getting trough firewall modem Connection

Hi everyone,

I set my Firewall Wan Port to 1000 mbps Full-Duplex with Auto-negotiated enabled.

I thought the solution was to set the WAN bandwidth to 1000 Half-Duplex but there is no option (only 10 HD, 10FD, 100 HD, 100 FD and 1000 FD)
My Modem (Vodafone Station) Lan1 where the Firewall is connected shows 1 Gig.

Sadly if i make a speedtest it shows only nearby 100 mbits.
We have a 1 gig bandwidth from Vodafone.

I tried several settings to get the 1 gig, but every speedtest was under 100 mbits.

There are no options to change the bandwidth at the Vodafone Station.

Thanks in advance for the help

  • Hi, what kind of hardware are you using your Sophos Firewall on? Which version? Do you use web-filtering and/or IPS?

  • hi, thanks for your fast answere Im using a CWK X86-P1 Mini PC

Here the specs i found, its the N3160 Chip
The Router shows 1Gig connected to Lan1, same as the "Router" after the FW, so i think the Ports of the Mini PC are 1Gig.

Im only using Firewall rules and Web filtering, IPS is disabled

    Port settings are default

If you need More infos ask me, i try my best to discribe

  • Just for firewall this chip should be able to handle much more than 100 mbps. Have you tried unchecking "Use web proxy instead of DPI engine"?

Did you install Sophos Firewall bare-metal on this machine or did you virtualize it? If bare-metal it could be an issue with the Realtek NIC's.

    And which version of Sophos?

  • I tryed but it did not helped

I installed it directly on the machine.

What can i do if it is a Realtek NIC Issue

The Version is SFVH (SFOS 19.5.3 MR-3-Build652)
