All APs are inactive

We use three APX120 with a Sophos XG115 (SFOS 19.5.3 MR-3-Build652).

All was running fine for more than two years.

Since two weeks, all the accesspoints are "inactive". We have tried to disconnect them, rebooted them several times but the do not go online.

We can ping all of them.

What can we do to fix that problem?

  • Hello there,

Thank you for contacting the Sophos Community.

Did you make any changes to your network?

Are your devices controlled by the Sophos Firewall or Central?

I would start by checking this KB.

    Regards,

  • Thanks for your reply. We have taken a look at the KB, but that didn´t help any further.

The KB seems to be very old, because there is Windows Server 2008 mentioned. This isn´t supported for several years, and there´s an error in the chard "verify wireless protection is turned on" indicating SSL VPN. The packet capture looks different too.

I think this document must be replaced. We cannot work with it.

The APs are listet in the domains dhcp and are reachable by ping. So we think, there is no problem with dhcp.

  • Hi,

please try disconnecting one then deleting it.. Wait about 15 minutes and reconnect it, then report the result here.

    ian.

Edit:- Fixed a lot of typing errors, not sure where the extra trext came from?

  • Hello Gerald,

The screenshots might be outdated, but the information is still current;(I will ask the team to update them though) in any case, the problem isn’t being able or not being able to ping the AP.

What about the information about the magic IP? and any of the captures the KB mentions? Did you confirm all of them?

    Regards,
