SFOS FIrewall and AD authentication

Hi Everyone, 
 Sophos UTM user making the move to SFOS firewall and need some help. I am having a diffiecult time getting the settings right to authenticate to Active directory on a new Sophos Firewall. With the Sophos UTM software you entered the Bind DN and the credentials and that was it. If you needed SSO you went and added the UTM to domain computers on the Single Sign-On Tab. 
 That doesn't seem to be the case anymore looks like you need to install STAS. Is that correct? Apologies for this question but I am completely new to this SFOS.

 Initially you may follow this for SF and AD integration: doc.sophos.com/.../index.html 
 Then, you need to create a user based rule: https://doc.sophos.com/nsg/sophos-firewall/19.5/help/en-us/webhelp/onlinehelp/AdministratorHelp/RulesAndPolicies/FirewallRules/FirewallRuleAdd/index.html 
 This past thread should be able to shed insight on SF authentication: Anyone knows how to integrate XG with Active Directory without the STAS (just like the old method on UTM)
