Firewall can't switch on backup connection

Hello,


I have a problem with the backup link in Sophos. We received an LTE link that works and has the correct address set. The "Type" options were set to "Backup" and the "Activate on failure of" rule was set to the main link. The problem is that when I physically unplug the cable from Sophos this one does not switch to the backup link.

I suspect that Sophos is checking the set link by pinging(?) to the main gateway, and the provider has disabled it, hence Sophos mistakenly considers the link as not working.

Could someone help me explain how the switching works or how to get some logs where the reason for not switching will be visible?

    Okay, i've changed the failover conditions - the gateway failover time-out is 5 second. After that change the backup connection went green. I can't test this right now, but is it supposed to be "status" green? 

    Is there any chances to check if this backup connection is working EXCEPT disconnecting main connection? Any other tests or configurations just to make sure if everything is properly?
