Version 18.5 MR4 Build 418 - Application filter "Facebook Video Playback" is not working anymore.

Hi, change the classification to "unsanctioned" should block it.

Please be informed that changing to unsanctioned is just a filtering option in XG and doesn't block any Facebook videos.

It certainly blocks sites if you have the correct web and application policies in place or at least they do in my system.

Already did this but still Facebook Video Playback is not working in Version 18.5 MR4 Build 418

Can you check the application filter logs from the log viewer and filter out the src IP see if it is getting allowed or denied ? 

Still able to play videos in Facebook. I need to block playing videos in Facebook.

My PC IP is 10.1.190.5

Is there anything I missed?

I tried to block that stuff on my system and the blocks did not work. I think I have too many exceptions which I will review and update tomorrow.

My block applications does work, just not for facebook at the moment and yes I have block quic enabled.

I tried to check Facebook Pics Download. and Now it is blocking videos in Facebook but it also blocks the pictures. I just need the videos to be blocked.





It shows that Facebook Pics Download is working fine. But the Facebook Video Playback is not. Again, I just need the videos in Facebook to be blocked and not with the pictures. Thank you in advance.

I just replicated the issue and for me it's working flawless on my network: I am not able to play any facebook videos on my phone !!

So this is the policy I have been using under the FW rule:




I would suggest go through the config once again and if still not working, raise a support request !!

please check your web -> exception list, there is a facebook series of exceptions there which could be causing your issue?

Our Lab confirmed the way Facebook videos work changed, and they have released new signatures to handle it. Please retry and let us know if blocking Facebook videos is now working for you.
