I reported this during EAP, but it's happened again. I went to Sophos Central to do some reporting and the last three days of logs are missing. It just stopped. Perhaps this was tied to an IPv6 tunnel (gateway) going up/down or something that confused the logging. I'm on an XGS87 which has extremely limited logging space and hence doesn't support on-device reporting, so maybe if there's something that convinces the logger that it can't talk to Sophos Central for a period of time that exceeds the small on-device log, it just fails out?
Turning off logging to Central then back on fixes the problem. This started happening with v19 and never happened with v18.
