Last year, we launched the new and greatly improved Sophos Connect v2 VPN client, therefore we are now announcing the End-of-Life of the old Sophos SSL VPN client for Windows effective January 31, 2022. Sophos SSL VPN clients will continue to function, but no new downloads will be available after January 31, 2022. We encourage new clients to use Sophos Connect and existing clients to migrate as soon as possible.

The currently supported software versions are published in our retirement calendar under:

  • SSLVPN was not supported on MacOS, was it?

  • I'm only commenting on the lack of MacOS support for Sophos Connect v2. SSLVPN was it's own flavor of PITA. Back in the days of v16-v17, we had to move some clients away from XG firewalls due to lack of provisioning methods. Coordinating 100+ users to download and provision their own VPN on cutover day was a nightmare. I'm glad it's getting canned, but for my other customers that moved to competing devices that relate to a northern California city and a brand of cooking oil, Sophos Connect is still only marginally better than the SSLVPN that came before it.
