NSURLErrorDomain-Fehler -1012

Hi Community,

a customer of us uses the DEP program from Apple, accordingly we have the account and everything else on the server deposited.
Last week Wednesday (07.12.16) 10 DEP devices were successfully connected. Since Friday (09.12.16) we getting an error message "NSURLErrorDomain error -1012" when we try to connect a new device to the server.
The only thing that was changed is the SSL certificate for the MobileControl, this had to be renewed because it was running out. It is still an official certificate.

  • I'm having the same issue after receiving the email from sophos about updating my ssl certificate.  Did you ever get a resolution to this?

This is the email I'm talking about.

For users managing iOS devices: Starting 1 January 2017, Apple will require all certificates for HTTPS connections to be issued from a Certificate Authority trusted by iOS. This means that if you use a self-signed certificate or a corporate CA-generated certificate, you may have to update your SMC server certificate before this date. Get more information in the article How to update Sophos Mobile Control server SSL certificate, or learn how in this tutorial video.

We were using a self signed certificate and after receiving this email we changed to a godaddy.com wildcard ssl cert.   Now I can't register any phones.

    Any suggestions?

    Thanks

    Charles

  • Check the SSL certificate ( www.ssllabs.com/.../ ) and make sure it comes up valid, Make sure you have restarted the SMC services (if self hosted) after changing the certificate.

    Bohdan
