Hi,
a customer had the problem pior to 9.6.5 that iOS 14 devices that were not supervised (100% of his devices) weren't able to report back the status of the iOS updates, therefore they were all marked as noncompliant, as he set the mandatory iOS updates in his compliance rule.
We talked to Sophos about this and were told, there is a patch coming which will fix this bug, we have to wait for it.
Today i updated their environment to 9.6.5 - and nothing changed (yes, i checked in all devices and also checked for compliance). Now when i carefully read the patch notes about this topic:
- iOS 14 and later: Exclude unsupervised devices from the Mandatory OS updates compliance rule. These devices don’t report available iOS updates.
This could be understood as "Well we cannot do anything about this, please take care yourself and use another compliance rule for your supervised devices" - which would be... not cool, to say the least.
Any idea on this?
