Loss & Theft on Galaxy Tab S3 with wifi only

Hello.

I just installed Sophos Mobile Sequrity on my Galaxy Tab S3. Does anyone know if Loss & Theft will work at all as it seems to be based on text (sms) messages and my tablet is a wifi only model. I wonder because the Loss & Theft function is available in the Sophos app. Is there a way to receive the text message on the tablet?

Thanks in advance.

Kind regards,

Martin

  • Hi Martin,

Loss & Theft in SMSec works only on tablets which can send and receive SMS via a GSM network. In addition, it, of course, works only if the user has defined at least one phone number to send the "locate command" plus a password for Loss & Theft.

Once a tablet is enrolled into Sophos Mobile it can be located by a Sophos Mobile administrator or the user themselves by using the Self Service Portal. In this case, the tablet does not need a GSM unit.
