Mass deployment Sophos Central Client

Hi,

We want to deploy the Sophos Central Client on 30000 computers in a managed way and with as less as network wandwith as possible.
So we want to deliver the Windows full client package to our computers  as a first stage with our Enterpirise deployemt software In a second stage we want to execute the installation on the computer.
How can we deploy the client in a controlled way, in a way so our Change Management  devision will be satfisfied ?

With kind regards, Ben Raben

  • Hi Ben,

If you're trying to limit the amount of network bandwidth usage consumed when installing Sophos onto systems, I suggest first ensuring you have a Server OS device at each of the sites you intend to deploy the endpoint client.

On a Server, you can deploy the Update Cache. Once this is done, the systems at that site will try to use the local Server's cache to perform the download.
Note: Once an Update Cache is deployed, a new installer package needs to be downloaded so any new installations are aware of the newly deployed cache system.

If you wish to automate the deployment, you can do this by using an AD script. If you wish to limit how quickly you roll this out across your environment, you can apply the GPO to a small number of sites/devices at a time.
    - Automate the software deployment to devices
