If you would like to request for this to be added as a feature improvement, I suggest reaching out to your Sophos Account Manager to formally submit this as a feature request. If you'd like assistance in finding out who that may be, feel free to send me a PM.
Edit/Update: We don't have plans to depreciate older API tokens that may still be in use as there are some still-supported legacy features that will leverage this. All APIs mentioned under the Sophos API DOCs use OAuth2. If you need to create API tokens, we strongly suggest using "API Credential Management".
