Closing a thread == Problem solved? WRONG!

Looks like some people must have completely lost the plot now. Since when does closing a thread mean that the reported problem is solved?

As reported in this (now closed) thread:
https://community.sophos.com/products/unified-threat-management/astaroorg/f/54/t/39670

There is something seriously wrong with the IPS pattern definitons.

My system just upgraded to pattern version 12406, but UNLESS I keep rule numbers 15851 and 16576 set to DISABLED as suggested I am unable to use any of my connections. Ergo - the ACTUAL PROBLEM IN THE DEFINITIONS was NOT resolved and we are still running with a WORKAROUND. Where I come from, that is not to be considered a solution.

So even after a major screw-up due to lack of proper testing users continue to be supplied with faulty definitions multiple hours after the error was initially introduced. That is just beyond belief.
