Home free license on UTM 110?

Hello,

So, I purchased an UTM 110 appliance 2 months ago from Amazon. It came without any license, and the shop has since apologised for not providing any license for the appliance. I've been refunded some money, and been asked to get my own license for it.

I was planning to get a BasicGuard (1 year) license, but have since decided that I would like to try the Home Free license instead. So the question is, can I have a Sophos Home UTM license on this appliance? And if so, what should I do to get it?

read the full thread, but basically renaming the /etc/asg file should work, and then install the home license. See the notes about possible re-ordering of the interfaces.

get the home license from https://myutm.sophos.com/

BTW, with 2GB of RAM, you may have trouble if you enable all the features in v9... the http proxy combined with the IPS will use a lot of RAM.

I'm sorry for my late answer. Anyway I tried to dive into the bash shell and rename the file. But I could not log in. I tried with the admin user, and the loginuser, and root. Also, I tried to reset all passwords (how to), but my keyboard would not respond at all when I got to the bash shell.

Long story short... I found a machine I'm no longer using. And I have installed the Home Free license on that machine. [:)]

FYI, the console passwords are set from within WebAdmin; if you've never set them, they are blank.

You should be able to re-install on the 110.

I don't know why your keyboard would stop working after logging in.
