  • I have the same problem! Android exchange sync is OK, but on every iOS it is failed!

The SMC app sync works and all device is compliant. Tried to reinstall the app, enroll as a new device after remove, add mailbox again but the problem still exist:

    -SMC app snycing

    -Mailbox details OK

-Mailbox sync not works in Mail app: Server cannot be reached

    Please help immediatelly!!

  • Hi,

Sophos Support has analyzed our MDM Server.

Unfortunately no solution. The Problem can't be localized.

Which Exchange Version are you using?

    Gero

  • We using the Exchange 2016, latest version on both two servers in the cluster.

I restored the backup with the earlier MDM and upgraded it to 8.6.5 only. It works without a problem. I put the 9.0.2 on banned list until they not fix this problem.

As I seen then it displays the problem as a certificate error.

If you have a full backup from your MDM server then restore it!

  • OK, we are on 2010.

    I've found a Workaround.

We have a second Domain without eas Proxy.

I wait for a Sophos fix.

But it is really annoing. Next time i wait for some weeks with installing updates :(

I don't understand how such a bug can pass quality Management.

    Thank you!

    Best regards!

  • I am having the same issue ever since the update. Was able to restore VM from a later snapshot and emails are working now. Definitely a screw up with the update.

  • Had a customer report this last night as well; I think support has asked them to disable httpv2 in mobile control (apparently a new feature or something broke with it)...

    Doesn't work.... nevermind.

Take a snapshot or whatever backup you want to first (as this is totally unproven as a fix yet, I do not accept any responsibility for things going awry)… and:

    Using Chrome

    Logged in as SuperAdmin

Use the Chrome Console , Press F12

    Click on Console

Punch in that command:   add --disable-http2

Dunno if a reboot is needed or not after (wouldn't hurt probably).  Again, try at YOUR OWN RISK.

  • Well found that does not work... so ignore the above.

  • Hi,

no, you are right. http2 is the problem.

I had a remote session with sophos technican.

But you have to change it two times from true to false in the "smc-config" file on the MDM Server

and restart the service. Change in browser developer tools is not working.

But there is another problem with the header.

After change no password question popup on the clients.

They have to type their password in account settings.

I wait for a hotfix and let the config without eas proxy on my devices.

  • Yep, official answer:

To disable HTTP/2, perform the following steps:

    • Go to the Server where Sophos Mobile is installed
    • Stop the Sophos Mobile service
    • Go to the folder %MDM_HOME%\wildfly\standalone\configuration\
    • Create a backup of the existing "smc-config.xml" in a different location
    • Edit the "smc-config.xml"
    • Search for enable-http2="true" and change the value from "true" to "false"
    • Repeat the search as two entries have to be changed
    • Save the file
    • Start the Sophos Mobile service
