Sophos on-premise Windows Server Web Filter Issue

Hello,

Our organization has a requirement where the Web Filter service needs to be disabled on RDS management hosts running Windows 2016.

The reason is that it was discovered that the Web Filter service caused general RDP access blockouts to the servers and a number of management components (Web and usual network based) fail to work. We are able to place the service in a disabled state and seems to work. However, after some time and possibly after a Sophos update, the services are restarted from a disabled state.

We would like to isolate the Web Filter component fro installing on to theses servers altogether to fix this issue. It appears that the Web Filter service is part of the Anti-Virus package and not a separate component able to be removed from installation from the Management console or manually using the ClientPackage.msi package.

Is there a way to remove the installation of the Web Filter service to Windows servers?

Regards,

John
