I ran into an issue where the Sophos Updater was failing - and no useful information was provided via the GUI. I followed the link from the Sophos Self Help tool and was directed to the aforementioned URL.
None of the recommendations pertained to my issue. As I had just performed an OS update for my Mac, I decided to investigate whether permissions relating to Sophos had changed - on my Mac.
I found that the Full Disk Access for the SophosUpdater was disabled. I would recommend adding this check to the Endpoint Self Help tool for customers to easily address this issue.
