Can you force the Protect Computers wizard to use the FQDN

Question

I'm in a multi domain environment. DNS is always slow to update. I've a group of machines that I need to protect. I can't ping by netbios name but can when using the fqdn. is there any way to force the wizard to attempt to use the fqdn instead?I want to avoid editing a host file if I can.

Hello Bruno Oreo, 
 normally (ideally?) AD should ensure correct and timely name resolution - in a multi-domain environment this can be tricky. Personally I'd rather not use Protect under these circumstances but consider install during provisioning or use a GPO for deployment .
