Can't install enterprise console, ERROR : Command: Microsoft SQL Server 2008 R2 SP1 failed with error: -2068119551

Hello,

I have a problem during the installation console. The error is "Sophos Enterprise Console 5.2 Installation Failed, Microsoft SQL Server 2008 R2 SP1 failed". Then I tried to see the sophos.com/kb/114627 then sophos.com/kb/118660. Open the bootstrap log, and found "ERROR : Command: Microsoft SQL Server 2008 R2 SP1 failed with error: -2068119551".

On KB 118660 error shows Error: -2067922940 - performance counters. That's different with my problem.

Please help me to solve it.

Regards,

Rosyid

  • what is the OS of your server? do you have another/existing SQL version installed?

  • Hello Burnik,

Server is installed Win Server 2008 R2 SP1 Enterprise. There is no SQL existing.

  • Hello Rosyid,

there should be a SqlSetup.log in the user's %TEMP% directory which might be a little bit more specific but the SQL logs are in %ProgramFiles%\Microsoft SQL Server\100\Setup Bootstrap\Log. Summary.txt is the summary log of the last installation attempt, for each install/update there's subfolder (named date_time) containing the detailed logs. 84BB0001 usually indicates that "something" could not be accessed. Unfortunately this "something" can be quite a lot of quite different things.

  • Hello Christian,

Can you explain me what the error caused?

  • Hello Rosyid,

    Can you explain
I'd like to, but as said you have to comb through the SQL logs (maybe there's a telling event in the Event Log) to find the actual cause. To quote an MSFT: The code 0x84BB0001 is a general code, which may mean Access Denied, No memory can be allocated, Logon failure and so on.

  • Hello Christian,

Sorry for late reply, i can't find the SQL in event viewer.

But when i tried to re-install enterprise console, i've got system property checker "The SQL Server Browser service is not running". tried to start the service but still got error "Unable to Install database"

  • Hello Rosyid,

the remark about the Event Log was a little bit misleading, sorry. The SQL logs are, as mentioned in a previous post, under %ProgramFiles%\Microsoft SQL Server\100\Setup Bootstrap\Log. You have to look there. Simply running the installer again and again is futile, the underlying cause won't magically disappear. The warning (note - it's "just" a warning) about the browser service is an effect, not the cause.

NB: Dunno in which language you're reading this forum - please don't tick the Suggest as an answer box, it's suggest as (meaning this post could be a solution to the problem) - not please give me an answer.

  • Hello Christian,

The sql server browser maybe just a warning. But, exactly it caused the problem, because when i installed the SQL directly from the SQL installer, it's failed.

Oh, i'm sorry. i miss understand with it (Suggest an answer).

I think, this is not a problem on Sophos installation. The problem on the SQL site.

    Thanks,

    Rosyid
