Installing Sophos endpoint on MAC OS 10.13 High Sierra

Hi Guys,

I have a query regarding installing Sophos endpoint on MAC OS 10.13. What I have managed up till now is to get the Mac to reflect in the Enterprise Console by copying two files ( Sophos installer and Sophos components to the mac desktop ) and then proceeding with executing the sophos installer.

After this I transferred it from unassigned to a Mac group in the console. There are now 2 problems i am getting:

1) The installation fails ( but still reflects in the console ).

2) The enterprise console entry shows an error 00000006e - updating fails because no updating source has been defined.

I contacted the sophos support and they gave me a link where it states that after installation you have to click allow in security settings.

But even after this i am getting these issues. Am i missing a step somewhere ?

  • Someone please help me out with this ?

  • Hello Kandarp Desai1,

does it show the correct update location(s) - Endpoints view, tab Update Details - in the console (or any location at all). And is apparently "appears" in the console but shows an installation error - what is the status on the Mac?

  • Hi Christian,

    First, Thanks for replying.

On the Mac , the installation fails, i am guessing it is reflecting in the Console because of some services which have gotten installed.

Should i copy the entire MACOSX folder from the CID to the Mac desktop and then run the installer ? Because i read somewhere it might work.

Are there any other methods to get the installation done successfully?

In endpoints - update details view please allow me to check and revert on this.
