We're in the beginning stages of rolling out Sophos endpoint protection. Our existing AV is System Center Endpoint Protection (aka, Windows Defender). Sophos does not uninstall this when deployed, it disables the scanning engine. I suspect that this is a result of Windows Defender being an integral part of Windows 10.
My question is, what's the best way to ensure that the notification for Defender doesn't show, to keep users from seeing a false alert in the taskbar? I know there are some ways to hide the notification via registry edits, but I'd prefer something more elegant.
