Sophos Enterprise Console

Hi all,

Need to ask what is Sophos Enterprise Console actually? Currently working on my client. Does Sophos Enterprise Console actually is under Sophos Endpoint Security and Control?

 

Here is my client Sophos Enterprise Console version. Does it too old?

 

Plus, based on below image, I highlighted the PC that have 'X'. Does it mean the Sophos Enterprise Console can't connect to their PC? How to solve it?

  • The name "Sophos Enterprise Console" or often named SEC is a slightly confusing one.

    People often refer to their SEC server when really it's their Sophos Management Server: SEC is really just the UI component and can be installed on a client to offer a remote console.  

    There are 3 layers to the on-premise solution:

    • Databases
    • Services
    • Console

    These are really the 3 components you choose from when you install the management software.

    The disconnected state of an endpoint, i.e. a computer with a red cross, can get into that state for a couple of reasons:

    1. When the Sophos Message Router service on the endpoint stops, it will send a logoff message and this will change the state.  Conversely, when the Sophos Message Router service starts up on the client, it will try to logon to the parent Message Router on the management server, this logon event will set the connected state.  This really reflects the Sophos Message Router to Sophos Message Router communication.
    2. The Sophos Management Service hasn't seen a status message or event message for some time.  See this article for more details:
