In SEC 5.5.0 Duplicate Systems Appear After AD Sync

Every Month We Sync AD with our SEC 5.5.0 DB, However We End Up with Multiple duplicate Devices

More Info on DUplicate Devices :
*Devices are Disabled in AD
*If these Devices are Deleted from Sophos they Re Appear

Hence As a Work Around we Have these Duplicate Clients moved to a UNKNOWN CLIENTS DOUBLE GROUP

Also this issue re occurs, Every Sync we RUN

Hello Neel Shetty,

Disabled
AD sync, IIRC, syncs existing objects regardless of their enabled/disabled status. As for the duplicates please see the recent Computers in Unassigned Group when Sync with AD is on thread.

What if i delete all the clients from SEC Console and then initiate a Sync?

Will it re sync all Endpoints ?

WHere are these Duplicates Genrated from ?

Should we perform a Duplicate Clients Cleanup Task on AD Database or SQL Database?

Hello Neel Shetty,

please try the search mentioned in the thread. You'll find some explanations why the duplication occurs. You can delete the duplicates from the SQL database (it's unsupported) but they will recur if you don't address the underlying cause (means for example: change your workflow).
