Adsync and automatic user creation upon log in

Right now adsync is not set up.

However, whenever a user (local/domain) is logged into a pc that has endpoint running a user is added to sophos central(no email address though).

If i do ad sync, will there be a duplicate of users (that have been already added) ? Or will the old users simply be updated with the new information from ad sync such as (email, group membership, etc) ?

And lastly, will i be able to use phishing campaigns against these users once i run adsync or will they have to enroll /register into sophos central ?

Thanks.

The AD Sync tool matches AD users by Domain Login (Domain/user) and/or by email address. If there is a match, this will update or replace the Central account that it matched to, with the data in AD sync. In case If the email address differs, or if the central login is different, a new AD sync user will be created. For more details, please check this article, you will see the option User to Modify under AD sync utility once you preview and sync.

Central AD Synchronization is now compatible with Phish Threat (.csv files as well). Please see this link for more details.
