How to scan a directory with Virus Removal Tool?

Hello,

Is it possible to scan a directory (single or several) with Virus Removal Tool (SVRT)?

By default it scans all local drives. But I need to do a quick check in some directories (c:\windows, etc.)

Any suggestions...

Thanks in advance,

  • Hello Viktor Nazarenko,

SVRT is not intended to be used as occasional on-demand scanner. Both when used as actual removal tool in response to a (suspected) infection or simply as second opinion only a full scan is reasonable.
Could you give some details why you need to do a quick check in some directories (and why some other action, product, or solution doesn't fit the bill)?

  • Hello Christian,

    Thanks for reply.

We are looking for a second opinion scanner. Preferably it should run from a command line (Windows) and scan only some directories.

I wanted to check a solution from Sophos and found only SVRT.

But I've faced with inability to scan selected directories. IMHO it's a strange behavior. Other such tools (Kaspersky, DrWeb, etc.) allow this.

Could you suggest another tool from Sophos?
