SAV quits repeatedly when prefs opened and freezes on scan

Hi -

Just downloaded and installed SAV on MacBook Air running OS 10.7.5. Subject says it all really except that the freeze on scan (after 47,126 items) was global - nothing worked and I had to force shut-down to recover from it. I'd be grateful for any helpful suggestions if this has been seen before.

Do you know what file it was scanning at the time?

It may be worth removing external drive first and closing any open applications to see if it gets any further. Also creating a custom scan of just part of the hard drive can determine if it's the whole drive the scan is having a problem with.
