FIX THE PERMISSIONS ON OSX - you can't remove viruses from Quarantine as the padlock won't open.

When are you going to FIX IT? This problem has between around for a few weeks now, still no update to fix the issue. The Virus checker updates at the most inconvenient point, just as you start using the Mac, why not wait until the mac is not in use instead of updating just as you start doing a task. It slows your Mac till its unusable. - I tell you what, ill just uninstall this crappy product and use another - I've had it with this poorly written crap.

  • Thanks for your feedback.  Our development team for Mac is active on this forum so they will take on board your comments.

We're always striving to improve the product and make it better.  The padlock issue is known about and due for fixing - the current workaround is to open the application from the Applications folder rather than the menu bar icon (there are other posts on here mentioned that process).

When we release version 9.2 you should (if you reinstall at that point) notice more improvements generally.  It was hoped that v9.2 could be delivered sooner but ensuring compatibility with the forthcoming release of Mac OS X 10.10 has delayed it.

    Thanks again.

  • I have the same problem, we have a remote user, who has a virus; but cannot be removed without giving her the admin password to remove it (opening the padlock), has this been resolved?
