Scan Stuck

Hi,

I've installed Sophos for Mac this morning and have had a couple of problems...

1st... selected scan local drives and it spent ages just showing calculating. Eventually used force quit.

2nd... it started scanning but appears to be stuck with 2,550,801 files remaining, and i can't restart it.

Any ideas?

    Given the number of issues that people have with scans that hang, and I am one of those people, would someone in tech support at Sophos please take the time to generate  difinitive solutions to this problem? There is are numerous posts suggesting a variety of solutions and, clearly, the success rate is not consistent. Were the infinite scan an uncommon problem perhaps this might be a presumtuous request. However, it's a ubiquidous issue and, frankly it's presumptuous of Sophos to make all of us work so hard to track down information and troubleshoot a problem that ought to be fixed through the GUI of the utility applicaiton. Thank you in advance.
