This must be contagious! I saw this post this morning and, after restarting my Macbook, it now shows 2 Sophos icons in the menubar. I do not have ANY Sophos items in my login items. And, I am running only off my own User (which has always had Admin privileges) under OS 10.7.4. What is going on? Where is this 2nd icon coming from?
My 2nd icon is now gone! Since I am running OS 10.7 and did not find a Sophos item in my Login Items, I suspected it might have something to do with having my clone backup drive connected, so I disconnected it and restarted... 2nd icon disappeared. I don't really know what caused the 2nd icon to appear OR disappear. Hope you (Bob) come up with some rationale for it.
Hello,
I also had this appearance. Now I did it like described:
--> System Preferences, Users & Groups, Login Items.
I delete Sophos and restart.
Now only one Icon appear in the status bar. But I do not have anymore
the Login Item in the User & Groups.
That is ok?
