I set preferences to clean up automatically , but SOPHOS is still coming up.

I set preferences to clean up automatically , set to:

WHEN THE THREAT IF FOUND: DELETE THE THREAT.

but SOPHOS is still coming up, informing me a threat is detected. Super frustrating. Anything I can do? Thanks! Is anyone home?

  • I don't see that logo Rob. But does it matter? My past sit on this an languish, and no one helps.

You have an issue that is driving many of your customers batty and crazy.  I'm very drained and wiped, combination for the super annoying having to manually delete threats and the never ending battle to get the auto working

Thanks! It helps me know what resource to go to on this. I will let one of our experts know right away.

  • Hello Kevs40,

I'm guessing you are talking about the On-Access scan feature. Can you clarify whether you are selecting "Clean up threat"?

This is the preferred and default setting. There is a known issue in all versions including 9.4 that prevents the delete or move action from taking place if the detected threat has automatic cleanup functions available. As our analysts add new threat detections, they are also adding cleanup logic at the same time, leading to more and more occasions where this is a problem with the non-default settings.

Our next major release (9.5) addresses this limitation. Its a few months away from release, but watch the forum for an announcement about preview builds being available for your testing.

Its possible that I misunderstood your issue though, so feel free to report back if I've missed the mark.

  • Thanks I have , when a threat is found, delete the threat.

This has helped a bit, but it comes up a lot asking me to open QM, and then I have to do the manual.

  • Probably would help to know what threats are getting reported. Feel free to send me the info directly if you'd rather not post here.
