Threats issue

  Mac Yosemite version 10.10.2.

Every morning for over  2 weeks - when I turn my  Mac on , I receive a message that Sophos home edition has found 2 threats.

When I open Quarantine Manager the 2 threats  shown immediately disappear.  These threats sometimes disappear  when I open the quarantine manager or when I navigate to clean up.  When I mean disappears - all I have done is  move my cursor to clean up threat, not actually clean up the threats

1.  The things I have done hoping to rectify the situation was to uninstall Sophos and re-install the program.

2.  Run Sophos to Scan the Mac.  I usually start the scan at 9 am , but by the time I swtich off my computer at about 11 pm the scanning has found no threats ( thought under this its says issues detected - does not say what).  At the 11 pm time I switch off my compter  the items remaining to scan is about 7,160.600.

When I restart my computer in the morning unfortunately the scans once more start from the very beginning and not from the 7,160.600.

Be grateful for some helpful suggestions.

  • Thanks for your reponse.

I am please to respond  that this issue I had has mysteriously disappeared ie. I have not received any indication fromn Sophos when I switch on my computer that there is any threat issues.

I  have a question though.  How do I get Sophos to scan certain areas I want to be scanned for threats?

I have so many applications/files  on my computer that it just takes to long  for all the files to be scanned, thus by the end of the day when I swtich off my computer only  a certain amount of the applications/files  have been   scanned thus leaving a  large preportion to be scanned is left out.

     - Sophos starts the scanning from the very beginning  again and not where it has left off  from the day before  on manually  re-starting Sophos to complete the scanning.

    Hopefully this makes sense.

    Thank you
