Hello,
November 4, 2015
I had problems with my iPhone 6 Plus and Apple sent me a new iPhone.
But before I restore from the backup I decided to scan the iPhone back up with Sophos antivirus.
And Sophos reported.....
Threats: 0
Issues: 1
And the issue was 1 corrupted file (the iPhone back up).
The only item that was scanned was the back up itself.
HOWEVER: I've recently run six iPhone back ups and with EACH backup and Sophos scan …
(Scanning only the back ups themselves) ......
Sophos reports 1 additional corrupted file with each scan of each new back up.
For example the first iPhone back up only shows 1 corrupted file and the 6th iPhone back up shows 6 corrupted files.
In the Sophos log, the corrupted files all look exactly the same except the long stream of numbers and letters are slightly different.
What is this?
And how can I fix it?
I was going to buy a very powerful disk repair utility callled disk warrior for $120, but disk warrior tech-support needed to know exactly what these corrupted files were before they can tell me if their disk utility would fix it or not.… they told me to contact Sophos.
I guess there's always a chance it's not really an issue or false positive or whatever.
But I need to make sure before restoring my new phone from this back up.
Please Help,
Thank You,
Randy
