Sending mail attachments encrypted/uploading files to cloud storage encrypted

I'm currently running a trial with safeguard encryption and ran into a couple of questions, I know it should be possible but cant quiet find the right way.

With Sophos encryption I should be able to add Outlook and browsers (for cloud storage) to the file encryption/ignored application list in the general settings.
I've done this as shown in the image below. But for some reason when I send an encrypted file to someone without Sophos safeguard it is received by said person unecnrypted.
Same goes for cloud services, even though i've added the browser to the list. When I upload a file to say google drive or dropbox  it is uploaded unenecrypted.

Best regards,

Max.

  • Hi Hairdos,

I think I understand the concept, i'm must not entirely sure on how I would go about getting it configured correctly.
As you can see in the picture in my original post i've done it in the way it says I should in the knowledge base (https://community.sophos.com/kb/en-us/117960), but for some reason (unknown to me it does not seem to be working.

Also, am I correct in understanding that if I add IE my Veeam backup to the trusted applications, will the files that are back-upt to the drive be decrypted?

Thanks again for the quick response,

    Max.
