Reimaging a Hard Drive

Hey everyone! I'm fairly new to Sophos and had a question that I think I know the answer to, but I want to make sure. I have a brand new employee running Windows 7 Professional SP1. We are using SafeGuard 8.0 with BitLocker. Her laptop is a Lenovo Thinkpad X260. This was a brand new laptop when she received it. Anyway, she has been having issues with Windows freezing up after being logged in for a few minutes. I've done all the standard checking and can't really find what is causing the lock up. To save time and headaches, since she is one of our remote users who is only in the office this week, I just want to reimage her hard drive just in case something got corrupted on the original image and see if this resolves the issue. I know I can do this, but my question is when I reinstall SafeGuard, will it just pick up the existing record in the management console? I'm going to use the same name for the PC, so I'm assuming it will, I just want to be sure. Thanks in advance!

  • Hi Michael,

Welcome to Sophos. Reimaging the hard drive should work and hope you are aware that you have to install Safeguard Encryption manually after reimaging the hard drive. Let me know if you face any issues after the reinstallation.
