If using Shift+F6 doesn't solve it straight away please go to the BIOS and check SATA controller settings: change from the existing value to ATA/IDA/compatible/legacy and try again (without and then - if needed - with Shift+F6 hotkey).

Shift+F6 hotkey don't fix the issue... and the notebook only supports AHCI:

Make sure you don't use Intel Rapid Storage and don't have anything like FastBoot / RapidBoot enabled.

If you're still having issues after that I would recommend updating the OS to a version that supports BitLocker and using the SafeGuard BitLocker method for encryption instead. You can rollback your current install using SGNRollback: community.sophos.com/.../110653
