safeguard 7 bitlocker how do i enable encryption on non bootable device

Hello everybody,

i have a problem with the Bitlocker encryption for non bootable Device. I have one policie for the Boot volume that works fine and now i want to encrypt the D Partion and E Volume on the same System but Safeguard do not start the encryption on that volumes. I had created a policie for internal Memory and for internal Memory\other... but nothing work.

I had no AD GPO´s configured.

Has someone an idea.

    Hello Wolfgang,

Do an RSOP for the user on the machine and make sure the D:\ and E:\ partitions are receiving the encryption policy.
It's worth noting the additional volumes can only be encrypted with BitLocker after the C:\ drive has been encrypted, as the key is stored on that volume, not off the machine like when the the C:\ drive is encrypted.
Lastly you'll need to make sure they're ready to be encrypted and meet all the criteria. Can you manually enable BitLocker, do they encrypt then?

  • Hi Toby and thanks for the Reply.

In RSOP the policies are fine for the drive and say that the drive should be encrypted. If i activate manually Bitlocker for the drive it works and the windows screen Comes up where i can set the Password, the path for the key...

my policie and the RSOP looks like this:

The Screens come from an lab where the drive is F:

    with best regards
