Safeguard Encryption on a Dell Precision 7510

Once installed it gets stuck on a white screen after the agent has loaded.

I have tried holding the Left Shift key but that doesn't do anything.

Please help.

    Hi Rashad,

    Is it just occurring during a cold boot? if so then a SHIFT-F9 will resolve the issue. As soon as the machine boots up you'll need to keep pressing the Shift key, you'll then a getting a message saying the shift key has been pressed and "awaiting hotkey". Press F9 then.

    If that doesn't work please take a look at KB 111919 which has further troubleshooting steps.

    Hi Toby,

    Thanks for your advice. I have tried this but had no luck I'm afraid.


    The Laptop has been sent to Sophos to investigate. We think it may be because the hard drive isn't a regular SATA one. It is soldered onto the motherboard.


    Will keep this thread updated with what they find.
