Web Help Desk - Logon Failed

Hi All,

Today my techs reported tha the web help desk is faililng for all logon. I also tried creating a new account and didn't work either. I tried restarting the service with no luck. Are there any logs for the web help desk that could point me in the right direction?

  • Could be a database connection problem.  Has anything changed between the IIS server and the database?  Did the password on the database connection account change?

    sounds like it was working before and all of a sudden stopped. Were there any changes to the SafeGuard Environment (account changes, updates to a new version, implementing new feature (like Windows User logon to the Web Helpdesk which is new with SGN 6.10))?

    Like Andrew, I'd suggest to verify the following:

    - Is the SafeGuard Server able to communicate with the Database (use the SGN Server website and browse the web page. It gives you the option to run the "Invoke Test" which will show you details on the DB connection)

    - is the User account that is used for the Web Helpdesk Application Pool on the IIS expired or had the account the rights to sql db changed?

    - If you check the IIS Servers Application Eventlog, do you see any hints / errors related to Web Helpdesk / SGN Server
