Safeguard Easy Local Self Help Screen

Hi,

We have updated to Safeguard Easy version 7. We allow the Local Self Help however if the user decides not to use the help screen it keeps prompting them on screen to fill it in?

Is there anyway to stop the Local Self Help screen popping up?

Thanks

Dave

  • Unfortunately not. It was added as a feature in version 7. After a short grace period of around 3 days it will prompt them very hour.

All you can really do is disable local self help.
  • Thanks! It's a pain though. Would much easier to let them click the notification area to enable or disable it.

    Hi David,

It would certainly be easier, but the idea is to encourage the user to get this filled in, it not only gives the end user an additional way to access their machine should they forget their password, but it also doesn't require the assistance of the IT helpdesk.
I know it's annoying, but it should only take a few minutes to enter these questions and in the longrun they'll be glad they set this up.
  • Another request to disable the Local Self Help or at least make it easier than answering 10 questions exactly right.  Industry standard is maybe 3 questions.  My engineers do not have the patience for this!  Nor do i.

  • Is it 10 questions though? I thought it was 20 with a minimum of 6 to be configured, with only two asked when the users perform the recovery?

Also if the local self help questions are stored in the Policy screen of the Safeguard management centre surely you could remove a load of them? Or is it different in Safeguard easy?
