Dell Latitude E5440 NO INIT issue

Hello,

we are using Sophos Safeguard Enterprise 6.00.1 with success with DELL Latitude E7240. But our sales team is using DELL Latitude E5440 a new series from DELL and get the "No init" error after booting in POA.

This problem occurs with E7240. The solution was a new POACFG from Sophos. But until now there is no new POACFG available. Does anybody know this problem with DELL Latitude E5440?

    All the time. If for whatever reason you cannot get the keyboard to work you can change the setting that Shift + F6 changes using the BeSetFlags tool. You will need to get a copy of this from Sophos Support.

    You will need to boot into a recovery disk from here: http://www.sophos.com/en-us/support/knowledgebase/108805.aspx

    Boot into it and copy BeSetFlags to either of these two locations depending on the OS.

    Windows XP, Windows 7 x86:        C:\Windows\System32\

    Windows 7 x64:                                C:\Windows\SysWow64\

    The load Launch a Command Prompt and then execute BESetFlags using the following
    switch

    BESetFlags ATA ON

    Reboot and it should work.
