SGM 409: Fatal Error Occurred

On occassion I am getting the error: SGM 409: Fatal Error Occurred. I then have to turn off my laptop, and try booting up again, sometimes multiple times. Is anyone else seeing this? I have SafeGuard 5.60 installed.

I'm having the exact same problem on occasion. I also have 5.60 installed.

From personal experience troubleshooting this message, the machine probably needs to be wiped and re-imaged.

Hi jbrun,
SGM409 can occurs when there is an SATA Raid Controller installed and the POA fails to load successfully.
Depending on manufacturers implementation in the BIOS, you could try to change the default settings for the controller to a "compatibility" or "combined" mode manually or trying the Shift+F6 hotkey to switch from ATA to Int13 support.

Hi I am getting this error when booting up but it has not gone away despite what feels like hundreds of reboots. It just freezes at this screen, is there any way to get my laptop booted without sophos?
