SG stuck at White screen

User has a Dell Latitude 5420 with Windows 7 x64 and SG 6.x on it. User was complaing the battery no longer lasts beyond an hour, so I changed out the 6 cell with a 9 cell. Throw the laptop back on the dock and fire it up, only for it to get stuck on the white screen that is part of SG (we have disabled POA). Tried a few times with the same results. Finally tried OFF the dock and it booted fine...docked it and it all worked fine. Rebooted and stuck again until removed from the dock. Any input would be greatly appreciated.

Have you tried pressing Shift + F4 before the screen appears to change to VESA mode. We had a problem with this once and it turned out to be a video driver issue.

Thanks for the response. I haven't tried any hot keys as when I looked them up I didn't see how any of them related to swapping out a battery. I will, however, give it a shot when I get to the office tomorrow.

That didn't work but Shift+F7 to toggle USB 2.0 support seems like it may have fixed the issue for us. Lenovo T440p/T540p with the latest BIOS versions.

Make sure you run SGN-HWinfo and email the report to HWInfo@sophos.com so they can update the POACFG file to prevent this from happening again.

Hello,
same issue here with specific Dell laptops.
Our problem was solved by using standard VGA cable to the docking station instead of HDMI.
