"Fast" encryption. What is it and what does it do?

    Good point Dan.  However, when faced with that screen on the Mac side, I had no idea that I could continue working, and no idea what Fast mode did.  

    It's possible that a little bit of text would be remarkably helpful at that point, telling the user that they can continue working and just what Fast mode really does.
