Safeguard Portable 5.60 - USB Correct Key, CD Wrong key

Hi All,

When we write to a USB drive it will correctly use the Users key to encrypt the file and allow you to use the media passphrase to get access to the file.

When we write to a CD it takes on the key of the laptop and won't allow us to use the media passphrase set to get access to the file.

When you try to open a file through the SGPortable application you get a message to say "Decryption failed for <FILENAME> Key is not available"

What do I need to set in the policy so you can use the media passphrase to access encrypted files written to a CD?

  • Hey emps,

I do not have the release dates available but I would not expect that SafeGuard Enterprise 6.10 will be released in the timeframe you're aiming at.

If you open a ticket with support, with the reference to KBA #119555, they should be able to help you quickly with the mentioned hotfix.

    Hope that helps,

    Chris
