Sophos patches update path and notification

Question

in this KB show below the hotfix required client version 8.00.5.16, if we only got 8.00.0.251 only on our clients, how can we apply this patch? how can we get a full list of patch Rollup sequence to make sure we will not skip patches. 
 also how Sohpos notice customer on patch availability before error occurs? 
 
 and how to get the msi file for installation via SCCM, the download link only supply msp file.

 The hotfix can be applied to SafeGuard Client version 8.00.5.16 only.

I've raised this point before - This is badly worded and confused! 
 
 To get the latest v8 client you need to run two MSP (MSI Patches) 
 
 1 - SGN8005Patch1804_x64. (64 or 32 obviously) - This should update your client to 8.00.5.16 from 251 
 2 - SGN8005WinRS4CompPatch_x64 - This should update your client from 8.00.5.16 to 8.00.5.18 
 
 You can treat the MSP in the same way you treat an MSI really.
